European Wind Energy Technology Platform takes off:
Jos Beurskens, scientific director of We@Sea is on board 
In October 2006 the European Wind Energy Technology Platform was launched buy Commissioner Piebalgs of the Directorate General TEN (Energy and Transport) of the European Commission. On the Platform representatives of all European wind energy sectors, such as manufacturers, project developers and R&D establishments, meet to formulate recommendations for future R&D and policy measures to be supported and implemented at the European level. Just recently the members of the Steering Committee of the Platform were appointed. The Steering Committee will be responsible to establish the various working groups which will constitute the Platform. Most probably 7 working groups will be established covering topics varying from payment mechanisms to offshore technology.
The Steering Committee forms a balanced representation of both sectors and nationalities.
Jos Beurskens will serve on the Steering Committee as a Dutch representative for the R&D sector.
